Espresso coffee is any coffee made using an espresso machine - which forces water under pressure through ground coffee
The crema contains caffeine which has a bitter taste. Depending on how the milk is poured, under the crema to make a pattern the initial taste can be bitter. Cappuccinos avoid this by having a sprinkle of chocolate on top.
The short black or espresso cup varies between 2.5 & 3oz in size, the espresso shot is only 1oz or 30ml. The cup is relatively larger than the drink and the interior of the cup white. This is to show off the espresso, the crema on the top of the coffee.
